would be reflected as follows: 1998-$20,000; 1999-$25,000; 2000-$30,000; 2001-$35,000; 2002- <br />$40,000. <br /> <br />Commissioner Droegemueller noted a need for $25,000 in General Fund monies for legal fees <br />associated with park development. Commissioner Ostrum added his desire to discuss further specifics <br />regarding this need at the Commission's June meeting for purposes of combining General Fund <br />monies with other potential monies. Commission members agreed. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued about the need for a community center and prospective funding sources. Mr. Boos <br />added a community center would be most logically located by a recently discussed arboretum. <br />Commissioner Droegemueller noted the need for identification of a site for a potential community <br />center such as the plot of land west of Mississippi West Park. Chairperson Cook agreed adding the <br />need for the City to help facilitate a sense of community. <br /> <br />Commissioner Asfahl expressed a desire to also review those items in the dratt which need to be <br />eliminated. <br /> <br />Case #2: Recommend Adoption of Updated Tournament Policy <br /> <br />Mr. Boos informed Commission members that identified changes had been made. <br /> <br />A motion by Commissioner Ostrum and seconded by Commissioner Asfahl to recommend City <br />Council adoption of the revised Tournament and Park Facility Reservation policy. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Chair Cook, Commissioners Ostrum, Asfahl, Droegemueller, Johns, <br />LaMere, and Rolfe. Voting No: None. Absent: None. <br /> <br />Case #3: Discuss Resident Input/Questions Resulting from April 26, 1997 Booth <br /> <br />Consensus of Commission members was favorable about the booth at the 1997 Environmental <br />Festival. Improvements for a booth at the 1998 Festival were suggested to include a collage, visual <br />map of City park locations, potential video and inclusive information. Commissioner Asfahl <br />encouraged development of a list to include various volunteer opportunities/needs, adding <br />Commission members should be able to assist in development of such a list. <br /> <br />Case #4: Recommend Park Dedication for Business Park 95 4~ Addition <br /> <br />Three new lots are being created which are located generally south of McKinley Street and east of <br />Sunfish Lake Boulevard. <br /> <br />A motion by Commissioner Asfahl and seconded by Commissioner Johns approving park dedication <br />to be satisfied by a cash payment of the greater of five percent fair market value or $1.00 per square <br />foot payable to the Marble Recreation District. <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission/May 8, 1997 <br /> Page 4 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
