Construction of northbound and southbound left and right turn lanes on CR 57 to <br />provide adequate refuge areas for turning movements and traffic queues at the <br />intersection; <br />3. Construction of raised median or painted channelization on CR 57 to provide <br />adequate vehicular separation in approach of and exiting the intersection; <br />4. If City /local funding allows, left and right turn lane construction on Alpine Drive <br />would be incorporated into the project. <br />Utilizing the MnDOT 2002 -2005 crash diagrams and including the 6/17/2005 fatal crash, <br />the proposed improvement qualifies for inclusion in the Highway Safety Improvement <br />Program by having benefit /cost ratio of 6.40. The projected Annual Crash Reduction is <br />slightly below the 2.0 criteria at 1.85 crashes annually. <br />A location map, collision diagrams, the HSIP worksheet; and a concept plan for the <br />proposed project are attached. The estimated project cost is $1,000,000.00. Local funds <br />would be utilized for the required local match. <br />Thank you for your consideration of this project.
