PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The Personnel Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, July 24, 2007, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />Members Present: Chairperson David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember John Dehen <br />Councilmember Mary Jo Olson <br />Also Present: Human Resources Manager Givonna Reed Kone <br />Interim City Administrator Heidi A. Nelson <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Chairperson Jeffrey called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 5:32 p.m. <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br />There was none. <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br />Motion by Councilmember Olson, seconded by Councilmember Dehen, to approve the agenda as <br />submitted. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Jeffrey, Councilmembers Olson and Dehen. Voting <br />No: None. <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br />Case #1: Discussion Regarding Boards and Commissions <br />City Attorney Goodrich indicated there has been concern expressed regarding a particular board <br />member who sits on the EDA who is being pursued by the City with regard to the condition of <br />his premises. The concern has been expressed regarding whether it is appropriate for that person <br />to continue to serve on the EDA. He advised that, as per Chapter 2 of the City Code, the City <br />Council has elected to have a removal procedure, and therefore, appointments are not at -will. In <br />order to remove any commission or board member there needs to be a determination made based <br />on the list of reasons for removal, or a hearing must be held.
