APPROVE PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Rolfe and seconded by Commissioner LaMere to approve the <br />Park and Recreation Commission meeting minutes dated November 13, 1997, as <br />submitted. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chair Cook, Commissioners Rolfe, LaMere, and <br />Droegemueller. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Asfahl, Johns, Ostrum. <br /> <br />NOTE CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />The Park and Recreation Commission noted the City Council regular meeting minutes <br />dated October 14th and 28th, November 10th, and the draft of the City Council regular <br />meeting minutes dated November 25, 1997. <br /> <br />NOTE PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />The Park and Recreation Commission noted the Planning Commission regular meeting <br />minutes dated November 4, 1997. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: 1999 - 2003 Parks Capital Improvement Program <br /> <br />Mr. Boos explained that at the November Park and Recreation Commission meeting, there <br />was discussion on the proposed community center in the year 2002, in relation to Anoka's <br />aquatic center funding request. He stated it was determined that the Commission should <br />review the 1999 - 2002 portion of the CYP for potential modifications, then consider a <br />request of City Council for a joint meeting to discuss the CIP. <br /> <br />Mr. Boos stated Council's Finance Committee approved the 1998 CIP and said it will <br />formally be a part of the entire 1998 budget when approved during a December Council <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Mr. Boos stated Council reviewed the Halverson land purchase ("Community Park #5" <br />site) on December 9th and concluded the purchase agreement was null and void. He <br />stated City Council suggested the Park and Recreation Commission consider purchasing <br />the land as part of the <br /> <br />Chair Cook indicated receiving a letter from Commissioner Ostrum recommending the <br />Commission meet with Council as soon as it can be arranged to discuss the CIP. <br /> <br />Mr. Boos indicated Council suggested the Commission consider the purchase of the <br />Community Park land as a part of the CIP review, and said after the joint meeting with <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission/December 11, 1997 <br /> Page 2 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
