With regard to Well House No. 2, Mr. Jankowski reported that there is a small change in the cost, increasing the amount another $276. He requested, because of the small amount, that this be authorized for payment with a "field change" designation on the pay estimate as opposed to a "change order". Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmembers Haas Steffen to recommend Council authorize a field change in the amount of $276. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Beyer, Haas Steffen and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. Mr. Jankowski then reported on Well No. 1. The project is completed. Some problems were experienced but they have finally been resolved. The problem was that, during the course of this project, electrical harmonics from the new variable speed drive caused false alarms in the well house controls. A considerable amount of effort was involved in solving this interference problem and the majority of the work conducted in rectifying this problem was not compensable under the terms of the contract. The contractor has asked for additional compensation for the added work involved. Staff is recommending a change order in the amount of $1,679.90 to final out this project. Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Haas Steffen to recommend that Council authorize Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $1,679.90. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Beyer, Haas Steffen and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. ADJOURNMENT Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to adjourn the meeting.
