ROAD AND BRIDGE COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Road and Bridge Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, December <br />18, 1997, at the Ramsey Municipal Center (lower level), 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, <br />Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br />Councilmember Natalie Haas St&fen <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Carolyn Beahen <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Public Works Supervisor Merle Mevissen <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman called the regular meeting of the Road and Bridge Committee to <br />order at 5:41 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS: <br /> <br />Case #1: Update on T.H. #47 Projects <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated that the City has applied for two grant projects pertaining to T.H. <br />#47. The first is the Local Initiative Project which includes improving a 0.3 mile segment of <br />T.H. #47 from 142nd Avenue north to the relocated position of C.S.A.H. #5. The project <br />includes full turn lanes at 142nd Avenue and C.S.A.H. #5/Xkimo and signalization of these two <br />intersections. The project must be let by June 30, 1998, or funding may be lost. Construction <br />would be initiated in the fall 1998, and completed during the spring 1999. The second project is <br />the Federal Surface Transportation Program Project (STP) which proposes improving a 1.5 mile <br />section of T.H. #47 between 142nd Avenue to 153rd Avenue with a similar section as proposed <br />for the Local Initiative Project. This project includes signalizing four major intersections at <br />142nd, C.S.A.H. #5/Xkimo, 149th Avenue and 153rd Avenue. This project would also complete <br />a trail on the east side of the roadway, it will be necessary to acquire additional right-of-way on <br />both sides of the highway, and 12 residential homesteads would need to be taken and relocated. <br />The project has been scheduled for federal fiscal year 2001, which begins on October 1, 2000. <br />SRF has prepared a schedule which utilizes this date as the critical project date.
