<br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, July 24,2007, at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember John Dehen <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Matt Look <br />Councilmember Mary Jo Olson <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br /> <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br /> <br />Interim City Administrator Heidi A. Nelson <br />Civil Engineer II Leonard Linton <br />Community Development Director Patrick Trudgeon <br />Associate Planner Amy Geisler <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Management Intern Timothy Gladhill <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the City Council Work Session to order at 6:14 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />The agenda was approved as submitted. <br /> <br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1) Shade Tree Communities Development (Formerly Shade Tree Creek) <br /> <br />Community Development Director Trudgeon stated Shade Tree Communities, LLC owns a 40 <br />acre parcel located at 17650 Erkium Street. When the City's cluster subdivision ordinance was <br />in effect, Shade Tree submitted a preliminary plat called Shade Tree Creek that included 16 <br />single-family lots. After a lot of discussion, the City Council denied the preliminary plat in May <br />2006 based on two primary reasons: 1) inadequate density transitioning; 2) lack of a second <br />access into the development. <br /> <br />City Council Work Session / July 24, 2007 <br />Page 1 of 6 <br />
