CASE #: I <br /> <br />RECEIVE RECOMMENDATION TO AUTHORIZE HIRING <br />OF PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE WORKER <br /> By: Linda Waite Smith, Administrative Services Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The Streets Department has an opening for a Public Works Maintenance Worker due to an <br />employee resignation that became official on September 19. <br /> <br />The position was advertised internally and one application was received from a part-time worker. <br />The applicant was interviewed on October 9, by a panel consisting of the Administrative <br />Services Manager, the Public Works Supervisor, and two Public Works Maintenance Workers. <br /> <br />On the basis of his application, the results of his interview, and his previous performance as a <br />City employee, staffrecommends that the Public Works Maintenance Worker position be offered <br />to Brian Ihnot at an annual salary of $22,152 ($10.65 per hour), contingent on successful <br />completion of a pre-employment physical examination, including a drug and alcohol test, and on <br />satisfactory results of background checks with the Department of Motor Vehicles and the Bureau <br />of Criminal Apprehension.
