<br />Motion by Councilmember Jeffrey, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Personnel Committee in Case No.2 and to adopt Resolution #07-07-178 <br />ending the probationary period for Mr. Curtis and granting status as a full-time regular patrol <br />officer. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Jeffrey, Olson, Dehen, Look, and <br />Strommen. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Elvig. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Mayor Gan1ec asked if a letter is sent out in this effect. Human Resources <br />Manager Reed Kone replied there is not, nonnally there is a discussion between the department <br />head and the employee of the satisfactory performance. <br /> <br />l\1AYOR, COUNCIL AND STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec announced the following <br />. July 26th at 5:30 p.m.: Joint meeting with Burns Township in regards to the joint fire <br />contract in the Alexander Ramsey Room. <br />. August 7th: National Night Out. Councilmembers should meet at 5:15 p.m. in the <br />Alexander Ramsey Room or the Police Department. . <br />. August 21 5t: Ramsey City Golf Tournament at Northfork. <br /> <br />Councilmember Jeffrey commended the city administrator candidates. He stated it was a tough <br />decision and many hours were spent getting down to the final two candidates, who did a great <br />job. He looks forward to the transition and moving forvvard. <br /> <br />Councilmember Strommen stated the Environn1ental Policy Board would like to attend a Council <br />work session to discuss whether Council has interest in the concept of bringing a ballot initiative <br />forward in 2008 to ask residents if they are interested in raising funds through property taxes for <br />protection of open space. <br /> <br />Interim City Administrator Nelson indicated a work session has been scheduled for July 31. The <br />August 7 work session needs to be rescheduled due to National Night Out. She suggested an <br />alternate work session date of August 6th at 5:30 p.m. to discuss Ramsey Town Center interests. <br />Most of the work session will be in closed session. <br /> <br />Consensus of the Council was to direct staff to reschedule the August 7, 2007 work session to <br />August 6,2007 at 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Strommen, seconded by Councilmembet Jeffrey, to adjourn the <br />meeting. <br /> <br />.
