<br />Chairperson Nixt stated this is not part of this case plan and should be directed for staff <br />review. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Van Scoy, to close the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Van Scoy, Brauer, <br />Cleveland, Hunt, and Trites Rolle. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Levine. <br /> <br />The public hearing closed at 10:22 p.m. <br /> <br />Commission Business <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt called the regular meeting of the Planning Commission back to order at <br />10:22 p.m. <br /> <br />Commissioner Brauer stated if they rezone it in places to make it work, the Compo Plan <br />Amendment is a general change in the general use of the land; when they get to the <br />rezoning, they could go PUD or B-1. <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt stated he did not have a problem with any of the other businesses <br />besides a gas station. He stated as they look at this, knowing that likely with what they <br />have been told by the County the access will be changed and based on a right-inlright-out <br />only access he wondered if Mr. Wayman was still interested in developing. <br /> <br />Mr. Wayman applicant indicated they would like to proceed. <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt asked if everyone was in agreement that they would like to rezone this <br />from E-1 to B-1, which he thought was more appropriate for the property. <br /> <br />Commissioner Cleveland stated she would like to enc'ourage development in the town <br />center, but there are a lot of residents in this area that could use a place where they could <br />walk to for shopping. <br /> <br />Commissioner VanScoy stated he would prefer to see it E-1 but he did not see a lot of <br />interest in it being developed that way. He noted some retail would be nice in that area. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Van Scoy, to recommend <br />that City Council adopt a resolution to approve the comprehensive plan amendment for <br />Lot 1, Block 1, Gateway North Industrial Park No.3, contingent upon site plan approval <br />for the southern lot; and authorize staff to submit the Comprehensive Plan Amendment to <br />Metropolitan Council. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Van Scoy, Cleveland, <br />Hunt, and Trites Rolle. Voting No: Brauer. Absent: Commissioner Levine. <br /> <br />-134- <br /> <br />
