<br />Case #14: <br /> <br />Introduction of an Ordinance Authorizing the Sale of Lot 1, Block 4, <br />Gateway North Industrial Park Plat 2 <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Jeffrey, to table introduction of <br />an ordinance authorizing the sale of Lot 1, Block 4, Gateway North Industrial Park Plat 2 and <br />refer it back the EDA for an official appraisal of the property. <br />I <br /> <br />Motion carried. V oting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Elvig, Jeffrey, Dehen, Look, <br />Olson, and Strommen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #15: <br /> <br />Consider Joint Powers Agreement for Preliminary Interchange Design on <br />Trunk Highway 10 <br /> <br />Public Works Director Olson stated that the City received a grant for the design of the <br />interchanges at Sunfish Lake Boulevard and Ramsey Boulevard. He stated that the State will <br />reimburse the County up to $62,500 and up to $682,260 from the federal grant. He stated that <br />both the City and County will contribute $31,500 for the project. He stated that there will also be <br />a public hearing regarding the design and also a meeting with individual property owners along <br />the corridor. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen asked if this committed the City to a hard channeling project in this <br />corridor. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Olson stated that this will not coinmit the City to a hard channelizing <br />project, but should provide a future solution with grade separation. He stated that the focus is to <br />identify the footprint of the corridor and the impact this will have. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Jeffrey, to approve the Joint <br />Powers Agreement No. 91083 with MN/DOT and Anoka County for TH 10 Preliminary Design <br />in Anoka County. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec and Councilmembers Elvig, Jeffrey, Dehen, Look, <br />Olson and Strommen. Voting No: None <br /> <br />Case #17: <br /> <br />Report from Personnel Committee: Request for Authorization to Hire an <br />Assistant City Engineer <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson stated that staff began the interview process for an Assistant <br />City Engineer in June and held nine interviews and five follow up interviews. She stated that <br />staff is recommending that the City hire Tim Himmer at $33.48/hour. She noted that the funding <br />for this salary will be 60% from the General Fund and 40% billable hours. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen stated that he opposes hiring more staff in this economy. He stated that <br />many communities have a freeze on hiring and feels that after two years of less than stellar <br />growth, the City would be sending the wrong message if it continues hiring.
