Betty Olesen, 15310 Zirconium Street NW, Ramsey, stated that she moved to Ramsey from
Alexandria for its rural area. She said from her home she can hear homed owls and
whippoorwills and she does not feel the trees between her neighborhood and Alpine Estates
should be cut down for more houses.

John Voss, 6550 - 153rd Lane NW, Ramsey, noted that the land to the north of Alpine Estates is
zoned R-1 Rural Residential and inquired as to the zoning of the land on the south side of 153rd.

Commissioner Deemer replied that it is park land in the R-1 District.

Mr. Voss inquired why the City would want to put urban development in the middle of this rural
area. The subject property should not be rezoned because of the fact there is no other urban area
around it.

Chairperson Bawden called the motion.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Bawden, Commissioners Deemer, Jensen, LaDue,
Terry and Thorud. Voting No: None.
