ofthe trail, particularly along the Trott Brook corridor were understated. It doesn't appear
that the costs of c1earingand grubbing mature trees were considered in the estimate. This
is a segment oftrail which has been lbng anticipated and desired. In viewing of the final
product it is obvious that this segment of trail is more costly than what was identified in
the development agreement.

It is staf~ recommendation that the committee consider negotiating an increase in the
reimbursement for the Trott Brook trail installation, possibly with the contribution of tree
removal costs identified at a cost of $32,604.

Financial Impact:

Any additional reimbursement for the trail installation would come from the Trail and
Park funds. As stated earlier in this case, the Brookfield development has contributed
to date into this fund and will eventually contribute a total of $730,0 1 0 When fully
developed.

Action:

Based upon discussion.

Reviewed by:
Director of Public Works/Principal City Engineer
Finance Officer
Public Works Parks Supervisor
Engineering Technician IV

PW: 10/16/07

18
