Mr. Rumpca stated they would need to send in a progress in two weeks to the Twins and their
goal is to have the approval done, contractors picked and under construction and by 11115 it has
to be set in stone. If the fencing goes in this fall, they could utilize the fields with fencing all
next summer. He stated the benefit of the fence would put in a whole new perspective to the
game.

Mr. Rumpca noted the Twins grant is going to be $5,000 and his team fundraising will be
budgeting around $10,000 and if it does go over, the baseball organization will cover the rest of
it.

Motion by Commissioner Shryock, seconded .by Commissioner LaMere, to recommend the City
Council award an not-to-exceed cost of $5,000 for outfield fencing for fields #2 and #3 at Alpine
Park, provided that:

. A minimum of $5,000 in cash contributions is allocated to the project by ARAA and the
City's cash contributions do not exceed $5,000.
. Any contractors or vendors working on City property are licensed or permitted to work in
the City; and they are insured with the City receiving certificate of insurance before any
work is performed.
. The City shall be notified before any work will begin, with an on-site preconstruction
conference to occur with City staff present for each trades' work.
. The outfield fencing fabric shall be galvanized 9 gauge chainlink, with 2" line posts and 2
W' terminal posts with associated materials that meet or exceed the existing fencing
materials specifications.
. The concrete maintenance strip shall be continuous; a minimum of 18" wide, greater than
3.5" in depth and professional finished with neatly formed edges. The center should be
higher than the edges to allow grass clippings to rinse off the sides - with the outer edges
1" higher than soil line.
. ARAA warrants that the outfield fencing project is approved as complete, and that any
additions discovered to make the project "whole" like plastic top guards or warning tracks
are accommodated by ARAA.
. All Restoration of turf, etc. shall be complete by March 31, 2008.
. Also provided it goes through with the Twins.

Mr. Rumpca indicated they already have the check from the Twins and were waiting to get
approval from the City before cashing.

ParkslUtilities Supervisor Riverblood indicated Mr. Rumpca will have to fill out a Lawful
Gambling Fund Form for the City Council.

Motion carried.
