PC CASE # 1 <br />CONSIDER A RESOLUTION APPOINTING <br />BOARD AND COMMISSION MEMBERS <br />By: Givonna Reed, Human Resources Manager <br />Background: <br />In early fall 2007, board and commission incumbents whose terms will expire December <br />31, 2007 were invited to reapply for seats on their respective board or commission. <br />Mr. Jon Olds, who currently serves on the Park and Recreation Commission and the <br />Environmental Policy Board, declined to reapply for either seat. As a result, as of <br />January 1, 2008, there will be one vacancy on the Park and Recreation Commission and <br />one vacancy on the Environmental Policy Board. <br />The two vacancies discussed above were advertised in the.Ramsey Resident, the Anoka <br />County Union - Shopper, on the City's website and QCTV. On Wednesday, October 10, <br />2007, members of the Personnel Committee and the Chairs and Vice Chairs of the Park <br />and Recreation Commission and the Environmental Policy Board conducted interviews to <br />fill the two vacancies. <br />Committee Recommendation: <br />The Personnel Committee recommends the following appointments on behalf of the <br />interview panel. <br />Park and Recreation Commission <br />• Mr. Randy Backus (2008 -2011) <br />Environmental Policy Board <br />• Mr. Thomas Stodola (2008 -2011) <br />Funding Source <br />Board and commission members are paid a stipend of $25 per meeting.
