Commissioner Deemer stated that he is not opposed to the building but it should have soffit and facla
and eaves.

Mr. Jones, Applicant, stated that the building will be designed with those features.

Motion by Commissioner Deemer, seconded by Commissioner Holland to require the design of the
building to include soffit, facia and eaves.

Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Bawden, Commissioners Deemer, Holland, Jensen,
LaDue, and Thorud. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Terry.

Motion by Commissioner Deemer, seconded by Commissioner Jensen to recommend the City Council
approve the conditional use permit as amended for a metal accessory building on less than 2.5 acres
in the case of Scott and Lori Jones.

Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Bawden, Commissioners Deemer, lensen, Holland,
LaDue, and Thorud. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Terry.

Case #2

Request for Site Plan Review - Case of Mike's Woodworking

Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that Mr. Mike Sjoquist would like to construct an accessory
building on his property to store vehicles and equipment. The proposed building meets size and lot
coverage restrictions for the commercial portion of his lot. The only discrepancy is the proposed
building would be located 10 feet from the west property line. Setback requirements are 20 feet, and
a variance would be required. The applicant plans to build in the spring and apply for a variance at
that time. The accessory building would be sided to match his existing business building and home.

Motion by Commissioner Holland, seconded by Commissioner Deemer to recommend the City
Council approve the proposed site plan subject to the City staff`review letter.

Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Bawden, Commissioners Deemer, Holland, Jensen,
LaDue, and Thorud. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Terry.

Case #3

Request for Site Plan Review; Case of Sharp and Associates

Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that the applicant would like to construct a 73,920 square foot
multi-tenant building on Lots 3 and 4 of the A.E.C. Energy Park 3rd Addition. The facility is
proposed to be constructed in two phases. The size of the proposed structure meets lot coverage
restrictions. The exterior finish would be a combination of rock and smooth face block which
complies with City Code. Access is planned at 143rd Avenue NW. The westernmost access on
143rd is too close to the intersection of 143rd and Ramsey Boulevard and should be at least 150 feet
from that intersection. Off-street parking complies with City requirements, and there is 20 feet of
green space along Ramsey Boulevard and 143rd Avenue.

Commissioner Deemer asked the status of development on Lot 1.

Planning Commission/October 7, 1997
