<br />Chairperson Nixt explained the reason they need to review each event instead of approving <br />blanket permits. <br /> <br />Ms. Boden explained the reasons why they would hire these organizations and not run the events <br />themselves. <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt thought this may be something that would be workshop material to discuss so <br />everyone could understand. He did not think they had enough information to approve this at this <br />point. <br /> <br />Mr. Gruber stated if they went to a workshop meeting he would like to know what the <br />Commission would need to know to help them feel comfortable with approving this. <br /> <br />Commissioner VanScoy wondered how many people would be at the events and would there be <br />enough parking available. <br /> <br />Ms. Boden stated they are basing the numbers on small communities, around six hundred to <br />seven for most of the events. <br /> <br />Mr. Gruber stated they have enough parking for eight hundred people based on 2.5 people per <br />car. <br /> <br />Commissioner Brauer stated because the fee permit is part of their Code, he did not think it could <br />be lowered unless the Code is amended and he did not think that would happen. <br /> <br />Associate Planner DaInes stated the Planning Commission is considering the proposed land use, <br />and they should look at the merits or non-merits of the proposed land use. The City Council will <br />make the decision on the special event permit itself. . <br /> <br />Mr. Bill Wright, 7884 142nd Avenue, stated he was opposing the events for a number of reasons. <br />Currently they can hear the baseball games that go on at the bar. He stated the Motocross is not <br />just a dull sound; they go up and down decelerating and accelerating. All of these events are <br />going to take loud speakers. There is nothing to stop the noise from coming directly to their <br />neighborhood. He stated the music events, a couple times a year, did not pose a problem to him. <br /> <br />Mr. Bob Berlone, 7854 142mf Avenue N.W., stated he has listened to ball games coming from. <br />Diamonds for nine years. He wondered what kind of privacy he would have with the loud <br />events. He stated he was very much opposed to this. <br /> <br />Mr. Steve Bolka, 14430 Dayton River Road, Dayton, stated they can hear a faint clapping of <br />people at ball games going on at Diamonds during the summer from inside their house in the <br />summer. He hoped the City would deny this. <br /> <br />Mr. Steve Will, 8144 144th Avenue, stated Mr. Gruber is in the bar business and in this day and <br />age it is a tough business to be in.
