Ramsey Wants You. . <br />Get Involved: <br />Serve on the Charter Commission <br /> <br />The city of Ramsey is look- <br />ing for residents who are interested <br />in participating in the governance of <br />their community by serving on the <br />Charter Commission. The Charter <br />Commission studies the local charter <br />and government in order to propose <br />amendments to the city charter. <br />Charter Commission meetings are <br />held on an as needed basis; however, <br />state law requires at least one meeting <br />per year. <br />Please visit the city's website <br />at www.ci.ramsey.mn.us and clicl( <br />on "Advisory Commissions" to view <br />information on the Charter Commis- <br />sion or to print an application. You <br /> <br />may also call Human Resources at <br />763-576-4301 for additional informa- <br />tion or to receive an application. <br />Appointments to the Charter <br />Commission are made by the Chief <br />Judge of the Tenth Judicial District. <br />Closing Date: Open until filled. For <br />immediate consideration please apply <br />by November 30,2007. Applications <br />may be sent directly to Gary Schurrer, <br />Chief Judge, Tenth Judicial District, <br />Anoka County Courthouse, 325 East <br />Main Street, Anoka, MN 55303 or <br />sent to: Human Resources, Ramsey <br />Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood <br />Drive NW, Ramsey, MN 55303. <br /> <br />Santa's Coming to Town... <br /> <br />Santa Claus will be checking his list on the streets of Ramsey Sat- <br />urday, December 15 betweeen 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. With the help of his <br />friends at the Ramsey Fire Department, Santa will be cruising around neigh- <br />borhoods on a fire truck while his sleigh gets tuned up for the big trip. Listen <br />for the horn and sirens and come out to say hello to Santa. <br /> <br />Attention <br />Snowmobilers! <br /> <br />Recreational vehicles may <br />only be operated north of the 16700 <br />block in the city of Ramsey. <br />The city's recreational <br />vehicle ordinance provides reason- <br />able regulations for the operation of <br />snowmobiles, all-terrain vehicles, <br />off-highway motorcycles and other <br />recreational vehicles on public and <br />private property within the city of <br />Ramsey. <br />Loading and unloading of <br />snowmobiles and ATV's is available <br />in the parking lots of Central and <br />Elmcrest Parks to access the designat- <br />ed use area north of the 16700 block. <br />Ci ty ordinance also restricts <br />the operation of recreational vehicles <br />off of private property between <br />November 1 and March 31, if there <br />is not a minimum of six (6) inches of <br />snow cover on the ground. <br />A map of the designated use <br />area and the Recreational Vehicle Or- <br />dinance are available on our website <br />at www.ci.ramsey.mn.us/departments/ <br />police/recvehfaq.asp or by contact- <br />ing the Ramsey Police Department at <br />763-427-6812. <br /> <br />Required Training for Ramsey <br />Tobacco Retailers <br /> <br />City Ordinance requires all <br />licensed tobacco retailers attend a <br />tobacco educational session prior to <br />tobacco license renewal (tobacco ap- <br />plications are due December 1,2007). <br />Retailers will receive education about <br />the city ordinance, training require- <br />ments and penalties for non-compli- <br />ance. <br />In order to renew a tobacco <br /> <br />license that expires on December <br />31, 2007, retailers must attend one <br />of the educational sessions. The <br />training will be held on Wednesday, <br />November 7 at 6:00 pm and Thurs- <br />day, November 8 at 10:00 am. All <br />training is held at the Ramsey Munic- <br />ipal Center located at 7550 Sunwood <br />Drive NW, in the Alexander Ramsey <br />Room.
