Absent: Councilmembers Jeffrey and Strommen. <br /> <br />COUNCIL BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #12: <br /> <br />Consider Resolution Support Burns Township Incorporation: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec introduced Randy Bettinger, the Town Board Chairman for Bums Township. <br /> <br />Mr. Bettinger introduced Nathan Mattson and Bill Schultz. He stated that the process of <br />incorporating is a challenge but the residents are ready to do this. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig asked Mr. Bettinger to elaborate on what an endorsement from the City <br />means in this process. <br /> <br />Mr. Bettinger stated that an endorsement from Ramsey or other cities is not necessary in their <br />efforts to become a City, but it does make the community aware that they are working towards <br />this goal and shows that the City supports this. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to adopt Resolution #07- <br />10-289 Supporting the Incorporation of Bums Township and direct staff to continue discussions <br />with Met Council and DNR regarding the regional benefit of a surface water system from the <br />Mississippi River in Ramsey. <br /> <br />City Council /October 23, 2007 <br />Page 6 of21 <br />
