~} <br />Consent. <br />CONSIDER A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE RESIGNATION OF THE <br />CONMJNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR <br />By: Givonna Reed Kone, Human Resources Manager <br />Background <br />On October 25, 2007, Community Development Director Patrick Trudgeon submitted a letter of <br />resignation. Mr. Trudgeon's last day of employment with the City will be November 21, 2007. <br />Staff Recommendation <br />Staff recommends. that the City Council accept Mr. Trudgeon's resignation from the Community <br />Development Director position and that staff be granted authorization tobegin the process to fill <br />the. Community DevelopmentDirectorposhion. Staff further recommends that the. City. Council <br />grant staff authorization to use up to $5,000 for assessments, background checks and travel <br />related expenses for the recruitment process for a new Community Development Director. With <br />regard to interviews, staff is recommending that there be two interview panels that will run- <br />.concurrently. The external interview panel will be comprised of the members of the Personnel <br />Committee, a Community Development Director from another community and the chairs of the <br />Planning Commission and EDA. <br />Funding Source <br />Up to $5,000 of the unused salary from the current Community Development Director position will be used <br />for assessments, background checks and travel related expenses for applicants. <br />City Council Acfion <br />Make a motion to do the following: accept the resignation of the Community.
