An unidentified resident stated the City should provide a reasonable time limit in which to get the <br />vehicle operable. <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik suggested allowing seven days to get the vehicle operable or into <br />inside storage. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Thorud and seconded by Commissioner Deemer to add the definition of <br />"Operable Motor Vehicle" to Section 9.02 to read as follows: "A vehicle that can be presented in a <br />self-propelled condition within 7 days of the City's request for such action." <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Chairperson Bawden, Commissioners Thorud, Deemer, Holland, <br />LaDue, and Terry. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Deemer and seconded by Commissioner Holland to add the definition of <br />"Prepared Surface" to Section 9.02 to read as follows: "The entire area plus a one-foot extended <br />perimeter under a vehicle or piece of equipment." <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Commissioner Holland inquired whether the area should be required to be <br />within 10 feet of the garage, as suggested at the public hearing. Commissioner Thorud commented <br />that many times there are more appropriate places on the lot. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Bawden, Commissioners Deemer, Holland, LaDue, <br />Terry, and Thorud. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />For the record, consensus of the Planning Commission was that, by this ordinance, they are in no <br />way trying to permit the business use of a residential property. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Deemer and seconded by Commissioner Holland to recommend that the <br />City Council approve the ordinances amending Chapters 5 and 9 (as amended) of Ramsey City <br />Code regarding parking and storing vehicles and equipment in residential districts. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Bawden, Commissioners Deemer, Holland, LaDue, <br />Terry, and Thorud. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />COMMISSION INPUT <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner LaDue and seconded by Commissioner Deemer to adjourn the meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Bawden, Commissioners LaDue, Deemer, Holland, <br />Terry, and Thorud.
