PUBLIC ltEARING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning Commission conducted a public heating on Thursday, November 7, 1996, at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota to hear input <br />regarding a Proposed Ordinance to Amend the Lot Coverage Restrictions in the Residential Districts. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson David Bawden <br />Commissioner Benjamin Deemer <br />Commissioner Sharon Jensen <br />Commissioner Charles LaDue <br />Commissioner Michael Terry <br />Commissioner Bradley Thorud <br /> <br />Members Absent: Commissioner Paul Holland <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator SylviaFrolik <br />Planning lnternKirkSkoog <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Bawden called the public hearing to order at 8:10 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik explained the proposed ordinance at hand was to complement the <br />fore proposed ordinance to establish regulations for parking private and commercial use vehicles and <br />equipment in the residential districts. Passage of the ordinance at hand would help avoid inundation <br />of excessive parking areas which would include impervious surfaces and structures. Percentages of <br />allowed coverage would be 35% for R1 zoned with water and sewer (urban districts) and 25% for <br />larger lots (rural districts). <br /> <br />Chairperson Bawden confirmed that any coverage over and above the allotted percentage amount <br />would require a special use permit. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />1) Mr. Bob Tomaszewski, 15645 Yakima St. N.W., Ramsey, inquired about the reasoning for <br />restriction of percentage coverages of impervious surfaces and structures and why a person's use of <br /> <br />Public Hearing/Planning Commission/November 7, 1996 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
