CASE# <br /> <br />UPDATE ON ANOKA-HENNEPIN COMMUNITY EDUCATION <br /> By: Jessie Hart, Finance Officer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Steve Kerr, Community Education Manager for Ramsey Elementary, and several others from <br />Community Education were in attendance at the November 28, 1996, Finance Committee <br />meeting. They were in attendance at that point to identify a computation problem that had taken <br />place over the past three years which resulted in an overpayment by the City in 1993 and 1994 <br />and an over billing for 1995. This error was also carried through to the 1996 estimate. <br /> <br />The 1996 budget amount, which included the error, in actuality provides for 28 hours of <br />programming rather than the 20 we were paying for. Based on discussion at the meeting and the <br />adoption of the budget, Mr. Kerr has adjusted the hours to 28 and has indicated'.that they Will . <br />operate the program based on 28 hours. They will monitor the demand and see if the 28 hours is <br />enough, and if it appears the additional 2 hours would be needed, they would then approach the <br />City Council to discuss the issue further. <br /> <br />In addition to the discussion regarding the funding levels, several members of Council had other <br />questions that required answers and that this be placed on the January Finance Committee <br />agenda.
