Mr. Connolly questioned why it was not listed to which Mr. Schroeder answered because we had a
market sale. Mr. Connolly wondered if that was the best sale to which Mr. Schroeder stated that we had
the property appraised at $80,000 and we got $80,000 for it.

Art Raudio, 1404 South Broadway, Sauk Rapids, (Developer in Ramsey) stated there is a study going on
for Highway #47. He inquired what's the right-of-way.

Mr. Jankowski replied that it is currently 33 feet. It will be 45 feet from the centerline. It is 75 feet on
the east for 120 feet.

Mr. Raudio questioned why he was requested to give 75 feet if this developer is required to give 45 feet.

Mr. Jankowski stated that the study is recommending that 120 feet is what's required for T.H. #47.

Mr. Raudio wondered when that changed from 150 feet on both sides and why some give less right-of-
way than others. He inquired if this property was put on bids to the public.

Mr. Schroeder replied that it was once it was known it was for sale; however, it was not actually
marketed.

Mr. Raudio stated he didn't know anything about it.

Mr. Schroeder stated it was handled much like the Business Park - it was not advertised in the paper,
however, Council has to have two readings of an ordinance in order to sell City-owned property.

Margaret Connolly, 15235 Kamacite Street NW, Ramsey, inquired if anyone had looked at "picking up"
the old school house.

Mr. Schroeder informed her that a moving company (Ernst) had put in a bid on moving it. There were
structural engineers in the building not too long ago also but he was not aware of what their findings
were.

Ms. Connolly inquired about remodeling the building to which Mr. Schroeder replied that we have
estimates on it, but no firm bids. This will not be bid until some of the other issues are addressed.

Ms. Connolly asked if the use for the old school house would be commercial.

Mr. Schroeder replied that it hasn't been decided but that he would guess it would be used for
community space.

Ms. Connolly questioned the lack of parking.

Mr. Schroeder responded that community events would probably take place in the evenings - off-peak
times.

Ms. Connolly reminded Mr. Schroeder that it has been stated that other facilities in the City are not used
to their full potential for meetings.

Mr. Schroeder reiterated that it has not yet been decided what the end use will be.

City Council/February 27, 1996
