Voting No: <br />Councilmembers Beyer and Zimmerman. <br /> <br />CASE #14: Report from Personnel Committee <br /> <br />1) LELS Contract Ratification <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder reported that the Personnel Committee discussed the proposed Law <br />Enforcement Labor Services, Inc. (LELS) contract that covers the period of January 1, 1996 <br />through December 31, 1997. The contract includes a 3% base wage increase for each year, an <br />increase on family coverage with a freeze on single coverage, a $10 increase on investigator's <br />clothing stipend, and the addition of one paid holiday (Christmas Eve). He explained that the City <br />paid close attention to other cities and we are right in the middle. Staff and the Personnel <br />Committee recommended ratification of the contract. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to adopt Resolution <br />#964)5-123 approving the 1996-1997 labor agreement with the Law Enforcement Labor Services, <br />Inc. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beyer, Beahen, Peterson and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />MAYOR/COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />1) Groundbreaking for Listul <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder reported on the groundbreaking for Listul which is currently located <br />on C.R. #116. They came in requesting a temporary office and they are now building a permanent <br />new building in Ramsey on land purchased from the City. Council previously approved their <br />development agreement and it is expected they will be able to start on their facility this Friday or <br />next Monday. <br /> <br />2) Mayors Prayer Breakfast <br /> <br />Councilmember Beahen reported on the success of the second annual Mayors Prayer Breakfast <br />which was held on April 25, 1996. The cities of Ramsey, Andover and Anoka worked together to <br />provide a positive youth experience. The turnout was incredible with great speakers and <br />presentations. She commended staff for the wonderful coordination of the event and the hard <br />work. <br /> <br />Mayor Hardin also acknowledged staff for the hard work and coordination and agreed it was a <br />great program plus very positive for youth. <br /> <br />3) Spring Events <br /> <br />Councihnember Beyer expressed thanks to staff for their hard work on the Becky Weiss Bike <br />Road-eo. ' <br /> <br />Mayor Hardin added that all the spring events were very successful and added the Pet Clinic, the <br />Recycling Day and the Tree Sale to the list of events to commend staff for. <br /> <br />City Council/May 14, 1996 <br /> Page 11 of 12 <br /> <br /> <br />
