Councilmember Peterson stated there has been significant discussions on the use of the right-of-way and that there will be future meeting regarding who can use the fight-of-way. Councilmember Zimmerman explained that this stems from USWest vs. Redwood Falls. He explained that different companies want to be able to dig up other companies lines and the City would lose control of the right-of-way. City Administrator Ryan Schroeder stated that PCS Towers would also be an area of concern in the future as companies are coming in wanting to erect towers. Commissioner Thorud asked about a cable that was strung above his street as there were already cables underground. He explained that he was told this cable would be removed three years ago and it is still there. Mr. Jankowski recalled this was not a new aerial cable and it was still in use. Mr. Schroeder stated he would contact the cable company regarding this. Commissioner Holland thanked Linda Waite Smith on the quality of work regarding her research project on the recruiting and training of Commission and Council members. Councilmember Zimmerman agreed that Commission members should have input on recommending a person to City Council. Planning Commission members thanked Council members and Staff.for the appreciation dinner. Commissioner Thorud expressed that he would like to have more joint meetings with City Council. ADJOURNMENT Motion by Commissioner Thorud and seconded by Commissioner Jensen to adjourn the meeting. Motion carded. Voting Yes: Chairperson Bawden, Commissioners Thorud, Jensen, Deemer, Holland, and Terry. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner LaDue.
