Absent: Mayor Hardin. <br /> <br />Case #4: Report from Finance Committee <br /> <br />1) Consider Budget Amendment to Replace One and Add One Preliminary <br /> Breath Testers (Alco-Sensors) <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart stated that the Finance Committee recommended a budget amendment to <br />purchase two preliminary breath testers for the Police Department. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to adopt <br />Resolution ff96-07-173 authorizing Budget Amendment Allocating $700 for the Purchase of Two <br />Preliminary Breath Testers (Alco-Sensors) <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councihnembers Beyer, Zimmerman, Beahen and Peterson. Voting <br />No: None. Absent: Mayor Hardin. <br /> <br />2) Request to Enter a Contract for Police Records Retention Services <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart stated that the Finance Committee heard a case requesting participation for <br />professional services for records retention. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to adopt Resolution <br />#96-07-174 authorizing budget amendment allocating $2,900 from the Council Contingency for <br />the purchase of Police Department Records Management Services. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councihnembers Beahen, Beyer, Peterson and Zimmerman. Voting <br />No: None. Absent: Mayor Hardin. <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />Consider Budget Amend~nent to Allocate Funding from the Council <br />Contingency for the League of Minnesota Cities Rights-of-Way Work Plan <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart explained the need for a rights-of-way work plan and asked Council to <br />authorize funding for it. <br /> <br />Motion by Councihnember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to adopt Resolution <br />#964)7-175 allocating $1,008 from the Council Contingency for voluntary participation in the <br />funding of the League of Minnesota Cities rights-of-Way Work Plan. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voti~g Yes: Councihnembers Beyer, Beahen, Peterson and Zimmerman. Voting <br />No: None. Absent: Mayor Hardin. <br /> <br />4) Schedule Staff/Council Finance Committee Work Session(s) on the <br /> Proposed 1997/1998 General Fund Operating Budget <br /> <br />Consensus was to schedule budget work sessions for Monday, August 5, 1996, from 5:00 p.m. to <br />8:00 p.m. and Thursday, August 8, 1996, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson announced that these sessions are open to the public and that it is during <br />these meetings that City Council and staff will try to detemfine needs and levels of service.
