Case #5: Report from Finance Committee <br /> <br />1) Highway #10 Signage <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart stated that the discussion was held about City participation in a sign and it <br />was directed that staff see who is interested in the sign and report back to the Committee. <br /> <br />No action required. <br /> <br />2) Review and Prioritize 1997 - 2002 Capital Improvement Program <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart stated that the CIP will come back following review and along with it will be <br />a recommendation for pfioritization. <br /> <br />No action required. <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />Authorize Budget Amendment for Construction of Evidence Storage in the <br />New Police Department Building <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to adopt <br />Resolution g96-10-313 authorizing budget amendment for the construction of evidence and <br />property storage room in the Police Department facility. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beyer, Zimmerman, Beahen and <br />Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />4) <br /> <br />Authorization to Terminate civil Defense Siren Maintenance Contract with <br />Doradus Corporation and Enter into an Agreement with Embedded Systems, <br />Inc. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to authorize <br />Police Chief Auspos to inform Doradus Corporation, in writing by November 1, 1996, of the <br />City's intent to terminate their contractual arrangements and that the City Administrator is <br />authorized to enter into an agreement with Embedded Systems, Inc. for providing maintenance and <br />monitoring services for the City's civil defense siren system. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beahen, Zimmerman, Beyer and <br />Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />5) Consider Alternative to Ramsey Resident Newsletter <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to maintain the <br />status of the newsletter, published in-house, and to seek technical advice/training on the layout of <br />same. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Peterson, Beahen and Beyer. <br />Voting No: Councilmember Zimmerman. <br /> <br />6) Review and Adopt Investment Policy for the City of Ramsey <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to adopt the City of Ramsey <br />Investment Policy effective immediately and to direct the Finance officer to transmit a copy of the <br />Policy and new certification to each existing official depository. <br /> <br />City Council/October 22, 1996 <br /> Page 11 of 13 <br /> <br /> <br />
