<br />COUNCIL/STAFF LEADERSHIP PLANNING SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />Ramsey City Council and City staff met for a leadership planning session on Wednesday, <br />February 11, 2009, in the Alexander Ramsey Room at the Ramsey Municipal Center, <br />7550 Sunwood Drive NW. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Bob Ramsey <br />Councilmember John Dehen <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Matt Look <br />Councilmember Colin McGlone <br />Councilmember Jeff Wise <br />City Administrator Kurt Ulrich <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />Finance Officer Diana Lund <br />Community Development Director Amber Miller <br />Director of Public Works Brian Olson <br />Police Chief Jim Way <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br /> <br />Day One - February 11 <br /> <br />1. Call to Order <br />The Leadership Planning Session was called to order at 4:12 p.m. City Administrator <br />Ulrich announced that this is the first of two planning sessions - with the second being <br />the next afternoon/evening. <br /> <br />2. Introduction <br />City Administrator Ulrich talked briefly about the purpose for the planning session. <br /> <br />3. Review Meeting Objectives/Agenda <br />Mr. Ulrich reviewed the meeting agenda and objectives with the City Council. Ground <br />rules for the session was set and included ending on time, being cognizant of how much <br />time one is using to allow everyone to participate and staying focused on the goals and <br />work plan. <br /> <br />4. Review City Vision~ Mission, and 2008 City Goals and Accomplishments <br />Mr. Ulrich talked about how the City's vision was developed. He then read the vision <br />and mission statement and the values that back them up. <br /> <br />Mr. Ulrich read the five basic operating principals and talked about renewing faith in City <br />government. Discussion ensued relating to faith in government in general - not just local <br /> <br />Council/Staff Leadership Planning Session/February 11 & 12, 2009 <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />
