REGULAR MEETING OF RAMSEY TOWN BOARD
June 15, 1973

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 p.m. by the Chairman,
Mr. Murphy. Present were Mr. Cox, Mr. Hopperstad, Mr. Peterson,
and Mr. Goodrich, attorney.

Mr. Cox gave a resume of the minutes of the last stated meeting.
Mr. Hopperstad moved the minutes be accepted as read. Seconded
by Mr. Cox. Motion passed.

Mrs. Guy gave a resume of the minutes of the last stated Plan-
ning and Zoning meeting.

Report on the Park Board was given by Mr. Kay Nelson. The Park
Board is checking out the various parks in our community and will
have a report on this at the next Board meeting.

Mr. Tooker, our planner, gave a report on the status quo of the
comprehensive map and discussed the plans for our Township. He
has three possible neighborhoods outlined with three major roads
going north and south and two going east and west. He showed the
area for a central community site on the map. The possible census
in the year 2000 based on the 200 foot lot frontage size, might be
30,000. 153rd Avenue will probably be put through in the near
future. It might be that a road could be put in with the cooPer-
ation of Elk River Township going north and south on the western
edge of Ramsey Township to Highway #10 on the south. Mr. Tooker
suggested that as soon as possible this comprehensive plan should
be sent to the Metro Council. Mr. MurphM suggested that Mr. Tooker
meet with Mr. Salmela and Mr. Bergstedt at the Tec. Center to dis-
cuss this plan. Mr. Sha suggested that when this plan is written
up that Mr. Tooker show the best plan for future treatment of sew-
age in the north end of Ramsey Township. Mr. Sha suggested that
the new zoning code be written up by legal description. Mr. Mur-
phy thanked Mr. Tooker for his report.

Mr. Menkveld: Dolomite Street: Mr. Zaske was present and asked
Mr. Goodrich whether it was legal or not to hold up building on
the lot in question on Dolomite Street. He said if all require-
ments had been met legally in this situation he did not think we
should hold it up any longer.

We are presuming there is an MMC hearing on July 7th. No one has
been notified about this matter. If there is no hearing, then
we should ask for a meeting. Mr. Goodrich will check into this
matter.

Motorcyclists: There were a number of young people present who
ride motorcycles and motor scooters in the Township. They said
they had been told by the Sheriff that they could ride in the
ditches in the Township. There have been complaints from some of
the residents about the noise and two riders had been seriously
injured on one of our streets in the central part of the Township
just last week. They had been riding in a field near Mr. Murphy's
house Sunday and he had suggested that they come.'.to this meeting
to see if an answer can be found for their problem. One cyclist
had slid under his fence. A short time ago two cyclists had been
killed on Highway #47 by the fairgrounds. Mr. Murphy asked if
anyone present had any suggestions as to where these youngsters
