P&Z-1- <br />2/5/79 <br /> <br /> Planning & Zoning <br /> City of Ramsey <br />County of Anoka <br />State of Minnesota <br /> <br /> A regular meeting Of the Ramsey City Planning & Zoning Commission was held <br />on February 5, 1979 at Ramsey City Municipal Center~ 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N~W. <br />Meeting was called to order by Chairman Ken Peterson at 7:27 p~m~ with the <br />following in attendance: <br /> <br />Kenneth Peterson Brad Bodle Also Present; <br />Kathy Schneider A1 Sorteberg Lloyd Schnelle <br />Ron West Art Dunn (~erry Zimmerman arrived 10:35p~m,) <br /> <br />Approval of Agenda: <br />Agenda was approved with the addition of Election of Officers, and Report on <br />Wehrman & Chapman charges on critical rivers plan. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes: <br />Motion by A1 Sorteberg, seconded by Ron West to approve the minutes of <br />January 2, 1979 as read. Motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />Gateway North Industrial Park Plat 2 - Preliminary Plat Approval: <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle reminded the Commission of the fact that this plat is shown <br />as being located in the transitional area which has the 2.5 acre requirement, <br />and the plat presented has 1 acre lots. Discussion regarding this fact followed <br />with the consensus of the Commission being that they were in favor of the <br />less than 2.5 acre lot size, but that they didn't know the best way to handle <br />this. Commission members stated that they would prefer an amendment to the <br />Comprehensive Plan versus granting a variance on the plat. The Commission would <br />like an opinion from the City Attorney regarding the best way to handle this. <br /> <br />In discussion of the Engineer's Report, Mr. Greenberg stated that he w~s puzzled <br />that there were still so many points to be cleared up as his engineer was sup- <br />posed to be working on this. <br /> <br />Mr. Veve stated that he has been trying to conduct business in the City ~or <br />numerous years without adequate roads and would like to see this plat finished. <br /> <br />Motion by Art Dunn, seconded by Brad Bodle to table this item until later in <br />the meeting so that Mr. Greenberg has time to review the engineer's findings, <br />and the lot size problem can be worked out. Motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />Sorteberg Addition - Proposed Preliminary Plat: <br />The Engineer's report of 2/2/79 was reviewed, and discussion held. Mr.Sorteberg <br />was asked what he would like to see done in regards to 161st Avenue, and he <br />stated that he would not like to see anything done that would cause removal of <br />the trees lining the street. Commission members agreed that this is actually <br />a City street and even upgrading with class 5 would be expensive, and should <br />not be the entire burden of the plat. Art Dunn stated that since it was a City <br />~oad_ the developer ~as no~ responsible. <br /> on ~est questmon~d the park dedication stating that in his opinion 2.5 acres <br />plus cash with plans for adding an additional 2.5 acres when the adjoining <br />property is platted would be a better idea. <br /> <br />Motion by Brad Bodle, seconded by Brad Bodle to recommend to the City Council <br />to approve the preliminary plat of Sorteberg Addition with the following <br />recommendations: <br /> <br /> <br />
