CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Special Work Session on Tuesday, <br />September 20, 2016, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, <br />Minnesota. <br />Members Present: <br />Mayor Sarah Strommen <br />Councilmember Jill Johns <br />Councilmember Mark Kuzma <br />Councilmember John LeTourneau <br />Councilmember Chris Riley <br />Councilmember Melody Shryock <br />Councilmember Kristine Williams <br />Also Present: City Administrator Kurtis Ulrich <br />Human Resources Manager Colleen Lasher <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Strommen called the City Council Work Session to order at 6:07 p.m. <br />2. TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br />2.01: City Board and Commission Interviews <br />Human Resources Manager Colleen Lasher stated this is a condensed interview process for <br />filling two vacant seats; one on the Park and Recreation Commission and another on the <br />Planning Commission. <br />Mayor Strommen asked Human Resources Manager Lasher for an overview of the interview <br />process referring to the scoring and note sheets provided to the Council for each interviewee. <br />Human Resources Manager Lasher stated the scoring isn't based strictly on the numerical scores <br />given, but is a comprehensive score taking into account the written notes and thoughts from each <br />Councilmember as well. She reminded the Council that the interview notes are subject to public <br />record. She stated she will invite the candidates in, explain the process to each, and then the <br />Council will proceed to the interview questions. <br />Bruce Anderson was the first interviewee. Human Resources Manager Lasher invited him in and <br />reviewed the interview process with him. She stated there would be five questions asked by the <br />Councilmembers and both candidates chosen for the vacancies would be contacted later in the <br />week and asked to complete all paperwork needed immediately.
