CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a special meeting on Tuesday, June 4, 2002, at the Ramsey <br />Fire Station Number II, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Susan E. Anderson <br />Councilmember Terry Hendricksen <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator, James E. Norman <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the special meeting of the City Council to order at 5:36 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman, to approve the <br />agenda as presented. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Kurak, Zimmerman, Anderson, <br />and Hendriksen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />COUNCIL BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Introduction of Fire Works License Ordinance <br /> <br />Director of Public Works/Fire ChiefKapler stated that the 2002 State Legislator made changes to <br />Minnesota Statute 624.20, which now allows for the public sale for a limited number of <br />consumer fireworks. The Fire Department requested some changes to the City Code of <br />ordinances during a Council meeting of May 28, 2002. Staff was directed to draft amendment <br />language for Council consideration. Mr. Kapler explained that the ordinance would limit the <br />amount of storage of fireworks on-site as well as where fireworks shall be permitted to be sold. <br /> <br />City Council/June 4, 2002 <br /> Page 1 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
