FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Fire Department conducted the monthly officers meeting on Tuesday, February 10, <br />2004 at Ramsey Fire Station #1, 15050 Armstrong Blvd. NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />OFFICERS PRESENT: Chief Kapler <br /> Assistant Chief Hoxter <br /> Officer Lecy <br /> Officer Lewandowski <br /> Officer Minear <br /> Officer Nelson <br /> Officer Streich <br /> Officer Weiss <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chief Kapler called the officers meeting of the Ramsey Fire Department to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />Duty officer fbr February is Officer Weiss and March is Officer Lewandowski. <br /> <br />The next officers meeting will be Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />SAFETY CONCERNS <br /> <br />· Winter driving skills should be practiced. Also, firefighters should be careful climbing the <br /> trucks as water will freeze on the trucks with the cold weather. <br /> <br />· Make sure the correct outlets and lines are used when relaying to another truck. <br />INVESTIGATION UPDATE <br /> <br />· Officer Streich reviewed the current investigations taking place both in Bums and Ramsey. <br />END OF YEAR INTERVIEW REVIEW <br /> <br />· Chicl~ Kapler reviewed the year end interviews that took place between the chiefs and <br /> firefighters. <br /> <br /> Firefighters would like more hands on training. All but four were in favor of upgrading the <br /> certification training. <br /> <br />· Firefighters liked the weekly newsletter, would like weekly calendars, and most thought the <br /> communication had improved with the alpha numeric pagers. <br /> <br />· The majority of firefighters thought new firefighters should be brought into the Department <br /> in one large group. <br /> <br /> <br />
