PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION
CITY OF RAMSEY
ANOKA COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA

The Ramsey Park and Recreation Commission conducted a work session meeting on
December 14, 2000, at 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota.

Members Present:

Chairperson Todd Cook
Commissioner Reid Droegemueller
Commissioner Jill Johns
Commissioner Michael Rolfe
Commissioner Steve Ostrum

Members Absent: Commissioner Tom LaMere

Also Present:

Parks/Utilities Supervisor Mark Boos

Resident Comments regarding Elmcrest Park

Ron Hetland, 6371 164th Lane NW, Ramsey, stated that his major concern is access to the
park. He does not care what is in the park, but does care about the traffic.

Tom Marks, 16520 Yitrium Street NE, Ramsey, stated that his concern with the park is
the access. He also wanted to know if people would be able to race snowmobiles in the
park.

Chairperson Cook replied that snowmobiling is not allowed on any park property.

Leo Olsen, 16421 Uranium Street, Ramsey, stated that his property is on the corner of
proposed main access and he already has enough people driving through his yard and
does not need the excess traffic. He stated that if the City is going to build a park they are
going to be using heavy equipment and their neighborhood just paid to have their roads
redone and do not want to pay to have it done again.

Craig Simon, 6341 163rd Lane, Ramsey, stated that he has two young children and is
concerned about the increase in traffic. He stated that he does not like the entrance in the
proposed location, but does agree with the need for the park. He suggested that access to
the park be along T.H. #47.

Larry Lewis, 16151 Wolfram Street NW, Ramsey, stated that if the only other access is
T.H. #47 that could be a deadly traffic problem. He supports the limited access, but
thinks T.H. #47 is a danger access.

Park and Recreation Commission Work Session
December 14, 2000
