City UPDATE Administrator's Report December 12, 2025 Council Update We're Hiring! Police Technician (Part -Time) Salary: $29.66-$37.07 Hourly Closing Date: December 21, at 11:59 p.m. The Police Technician is responsible for performing a wide variety of technical and specialized functions and administrative work in support of the Police Department. Provides customer service support and exercises discretion while building relationships with the community, residents, and City staff. This position requires a high degree of tact, courtesy, confidentiality, and sound judgement. The position also requires considerable knowledge of State Statutes, offense codes, City Ordinances, and department policies. Other duties include, but are not limited to, entering, maintaining, retrieving, and compiling factual information through numerous computerized systems and disseminating this information to authorized agencies and persons. This position will also monitor compliance by applying knowledge of data privacy practices and requirements, respond to the public via telephone or in -person requests and classify crimes pursuant to applicable state and federal reporting systems. The position reports to the Police Department Office Supervisor. This is a part-time, 25-hour-per-week AFSCME union position. The regular schedule falls Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with some flexibility in daily hours subject to supervisor approval. Paid leave benefits, including vacation and sick time, are prorated based on hours worked per week. 2026 Wage Scale Per Hour: Step 1: $29.659 I Step 2: $31.142 I Step 3: $32.624 Step 4: $34.107 I Step 5: $35.590 I Step 6: $37.073 City of #k • RAMSEY Community Service Officer (Part -Time) Salary: $24.45-$30.57 Hourly Closing Date: Open Until Filled The Community Service Officer is responsible for a variety of non -sworn law enforcement support duties for the Ramsey Police Department. This position provides cost- effective public safety and superior customer service while performing regularly scheduled community service work. It also assists with high priority unanticipated calls for service and public protection and crime prevention. Conditions of Employment: This internship is limited to no more than five years, or one-year post eligibility, whichever comes first. This is an AFSCME union, uniformed, non -sworn, paid and benefit eligible internship. This position earns part-time pro -rated holidays, vacation and sick leave. The position is covered by Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA) and ancillary benefits are available. Do you have extra cardboard starting to pile up this holiday season? Did you find a strand of lights or two that don't work anymore as you were decorating for the holidays? We've got good news for you, during the months of December and January, you can recycle both extra cardboard and strands of holiday lights for FREE! Holiday lights can be dropped off in the collection cart in the main lobby of the Ramsey Municipal Center (7550 Sunwood Drive NW). Please note that you do need to remove any plastic `framing' (framing shaped like stars, snowmen, etc.) and dispose of it in your trash. There are also two (2) dumpsters at the former Public Works campus (14100 Jasper Street NW) for that extra cardboard that there's not room for in your recycling cart. Please breakdown and flatten the cardboard to help conserve space in the dumpsters. Both of these recycling opportunities will be available for Ramsey residents through January 31, 2026.
