The majority of the items were completed by
early 1996. In 1997, the blacktop parking lot was finished and the landscape berms were
constructed from composted wood shavings and fill sand. Remaining is landscaping and fencing
with a current budget remaining of $23,738. Mr. Boos explained that staff is in agreement that
chain link fencing is warranted for the south side (rear) of the buildings. Fencing provides for
outside storage security for things, such as culverts, which do not need to be under shelter. The
fencing project will cost approximately $9,200, or less. Dave Chmielewski, who was an intern
for the City of Ramsey, drew up a landscape proposal which has been sent to 29 different
landscape companies. The only bid the City received was from Landform Strategies for a
proposed amount of $24,000. Therefore, significant modifications would have to be done to the
plans. Mr. Boos suggested that the irrigation system for the east side would probably be deleted.

Finance Committee/March 24, 1998
