FINANCE COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Finance Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, November 28, <br />1995, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, <br />Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Glen Hardin <br />Councilmember Carolyn Beahen <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br />Councilmember Kenneth Peterson <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Ryan Schroeder <br />Finance Officer Jessie Hart <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br />Police Chief Mike Auspos <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson called the regular meeting of the Finance Committee to order at <br />6:10 p.m. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #I: <br /> <br />1996-1997 Community Education Funding - Anoka-Hennepin <br />Independent School District #11 <br /> <br />Community Education Manager Steve Kerr was present, along with Stan Peichel, Principal <br />of Ramsey Elementary School, Addie Larson, Community Education Coordinator for <br />Sandburg Middle School, and Jill Prall, Community Education Coordinator for Ramsey <br />Elementary School. <br /> <br />Mr. Peichel updated the Finance Committee on the progress of the addition to the Ramsey <br />Elementary School building and presented sketches showing the design/layout of <br />everything. <br /> <br />Ms. Larson and Ms. Prall presented reports on the enrollment numbers and kinds of <br />activities being handled by the Sandburg and Ramsey Elementary Community Schools. <br />They also presented projected funding needs. <br /> <br />Mr. Kerr stated that the current budget proposal for Community Education submitted to the <br />City included staffing to 28 hours of assistant coordinator time; however, they are <br />requesting 30 hours. He also noted that Ramsey has been overcharged and pointed out the <br />error on the spreadsheet. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued relating to the formula used to calculate the cost to the cities. Mayor <br />Hardin requested that Mr. Kerr present the formula at the next meeting. <br /> <br />Funding sources/current contributors were discussed as was the year-round programs. <br /> <br />Finance Committee/November 28, 1995 <br /> Page I of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
