STAFF BUDGET MEETING <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey .O. ty Staff conducted a Budget meeting on Tuesday, August 15, 1994, at the <br />Ramsey Mumcipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Ryan Schroeder <br />Finance Officer Jessie Hart <br />City Engineer Stevcn Jankowski <br />Police Chief Mike Auspos <br />Public Works Supervisor Merle Mevissen <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Mark Boos <br />Economic Development Coordinator James Crromberg <br />Police Sergeant Dave Gustafson <br />Building Official Glyn Huff <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Councilrncmber Sheila Beyer (arrived at 7:10 p.m.) <br />Councilmembel' Glen Hardin <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />The meeting began at 5:45 p.m. <br /> <br />Engineering - City Engineer Jankowski stated he is requesting a half-time intern. The <br />drafting supplies have been reduced by half as we will be doing a lot less drafting. He <br />requested $250 be budgeted for preparation of the Mylar City maps and $600 to take as- <br />built plans for sewer and water and reduce to 11 x 17 size to send out to consultants and <br />also for the Public Works people. There is a reduction in fuel due to a reduction in <br />engineering staff. The blue line paper was on a different line item last year. <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart described the car rotation and updated the entire fleet. Some repair <br />costs may be offset by vehicle rotation. She also described the non-assessable engineering <br />fees. <br /> <br />Mr. Jankowski continued that the phone charges are considerably reduced. The postage is <br />for mailing plans out and the long distance calls arc at a minimal. He described some of the <br />training requested and also the subscriptions. He stated that he will be doing a <br />comprehensive drainage plan for the Southeast Quadrant of the City. He asked for a <br />vertical file for plan sheets and stated even though it's expensive, it is a lot of storage. <br />Upon inquiry by Councilmember Hardin, Mr. Jankowsld stated that the WMO is doing a <br />plan in 1995. It will set the standards for water concerns. We may have the consultant <br />who does the WMO plan submit a bid plus we will get bids from other contractors as well. <br /> <br />Street Maintenance - Public Works Supervisor Mevissen stated that he added some <br />temporaries to the Personnel and raised miscellaneous office supplies up to $200. Cleaning <br />supplies are at $100 and gas and diesel fuel are about the some as last year. The amount <br />requested for lubes arc about the same but shop material is up to $1,000. Uniforms, etc., <br />are up a bit. Miscellaneous operating supplies dropped somewhat. Mr. Mevissen stated <br />that building maintenance is at $1,000 but that amount may have to be "kicked up" in future <br />years. Sand and gravel remain the same as last year. Asphalt is up to $1,000 as are other <br />street maintenance supplies. Other equipment such as radio repair, welding, etc. are up to <br />$1,000. The small tool amount remains the same.
