I <br />I® <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I® <br />I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> i <br /> I <br /> i® <br /> <br />I <br /> <br /> PUBLIC HEARING <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramseg Planning and Zoning Commission conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, February <br />2, 1993 at tl~e Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota <br />to hear inpu~regarding a proposed ordinance to repeal the Rural Business District and rezone Rural <br />Business pr4perties to B-1 Business. <br /> <br />Members Present: Chairperson David Bawden <br /> Commissioner Benjamin Deemer <br /> Commissioner Terry Hendriksen <br /> Commissioner Paul Holland <br /> Commissioner Charles LaDue <br /> <br />Members Al/Sent: <br /> <br />Also Presenti <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> [ <br /> <br />Commissioner Michael Terry <br />Commissioner Bradley Thorud <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br />Project Manager James Gromberg <br />City Engineer Steven Jankowski <br /> <br />Chairperson Bawden called the public hearing to order at 8:26 p.m. <br />PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik stated the merging of the B-1 Business and Rural Business districts <br />(mentioned ~ the previous case) will require repealing the Rural Business District, deleting <br />references tO Rural Business from City Code and amending the zoning map to rezone Rural <br />Business properues to B-1 Bus~ness. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Charles ChriStian - stated he owns a nice-looking building on property in Ramsey Commercial <br />Park near thelentrance to North Fork. He stated that the amendments to the performance standards <br />would requir* him to have curb and gutters and also brick on all four sides of his building instead <br />of just the fr6nt as he has it now. He stated he felt City was picking out a few property owners <br />and he hates I~eing singled out. He commented that one can have a nice looking property without <br />going this farland felt that this is overkill. <br /> <br />Carroll Welto, Instantop, Inc., 9421 West Highway gl0 - stated that they have been there since <br />1985 and have a nice looking building. He inquired whether his building would have to be <br />covered with ,hick and whether curbing would have to be changed from 4-inch to 6-inch. <br /> <br />Chairperson Bawden stated there would be no change to existing buildings. <br /> <br />Ms. Frolik 8tated the outside storage area would have to be addressed for hardsurface <br />improvements. <br /> <br />Pul~lic Hearing/Planning & Zoning Commission/February 2, 1993 <br /> i Page 1 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
