NEGOTIATING COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Negotiating Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, March 2, <br />1993 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, <br />Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br />Councilmember Glen Hardin <br />Councilmember Kenneth Peterson <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Ryan Schroeder <br />Personnel Coordinator Kay McAloney <br />Police Chief Michael Auspos <br />Police Sergeant David Gustafson <br />Patrol Officer Bob Kuhn <br />Patrol Officer James Way <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Councilmember Beyer called the regular meeting of the Negotiating Committee to order at <br />5:17 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Consensus was to approve the agenda as presented. <br /> <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case gl: 1993 Wages and Benefits for Exempt Employees <br /> <br />City Adminislxator Schroeder stated that the case memo is similar to what was in the packet <br />the last time this case was presented to the Committee. The difference is that two new <br />tables were added. At the last meeting is was suggested raising the minimum to 3% (added <br />to the baSe) as opposed to 2.25% (lump sum). The new table is included with a 4.24% <br />payroll cost. Wage compression was also discussed last time and the other new table <br />speaks to this issue. The top of the table shows projected wage disparity between <br />supervisor/subordinate in total and by class and the bottom half of the table compares <br />projected 1993 wages to market midpoints and class midpoints for selected personnel. <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson stated that if the Committee varies from the recommendation of <br />Mr. Schroeder (Table 3 - 1993 3.7% Exempt Using Mid Market Range), we do so based <br />on performance evaluation.
