<br />ORDINANCE #08-05 <br /> <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNT <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 7 WHICH IS KNOWN AS LICENSING AND PERMITS. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 7, SECTION 7.93 TITLED TOBACCO <br />SALES OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey ordains: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. AUTHORITY <br /> <br />This ordinance is adopted pursuant to and under the authority of the City Charter of the City of <br />Ramsey. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. AMENDMENT <br /> <br />Section 7.93 of the City Code, Subd 3 & Subd. 9, respectively, are amended as follows: <br /> <br />7.93 Tobacco Sales, Sections 3. License, <br /> <br />Subd.3 Term. <br /> <br />The license shall be effective from January 1 to December 31 of each year, unless otherwise <br />provided in this Code. If the date of application is after January 1, then the effective date shall be <br />the date the application is approved by City Council through December 31 of that year. <br /> <br />Subd. 9 Education Requirements. <br /> <br />a. The licensee shall be required to educate each new employee who will be selling tobacco <br />or tobacco products with regard to the requirements of this ordinance and State law <br />pertaining to the sale of tobacco products to minors. The licensee shall be required to <br />keep on file evidence of the employee educational session and make available for review <br />said evidence upon reasonable request by the Police Department. <br /> <br />b. Prior to the issuance, and/or reinstatement after revocation or suspension of any license, <br />the owner or manager of the licensee shall participate in an educational seminar presented <br />and sponsored by the City, which seminar shall be designed to re-educate the licensee of <br />the City and State tobacco compliance laws and review current employee training <br />practices. <br /> <br />Ordinance #08-05 <br />Page 1 of3 <br />
