ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, March 11, 2008, <br />at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Matt Look <br />Councilmember Mary Jo Olson <br /> <br />Councilmember John Dehen <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br /> <br />City Administrator Kurt Ulrich (arrived at 5:48 p.m.) <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi A. Nelson <br />Management Intern Timothy Gladhill <br />Public Works Director Brian Olson <br />Interim Community Development Director Sylvia Frolik <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Police Captain Tim Dwyer <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the City Council Work Session to order at 5:40 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />The agenda was approved as submitted. <br /> <br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1) Diamonds Conditional Use Permit <br /> <br />Management Intern Gladhill stated that the City had received two phone call complaints about a <br />snowboarding event held at Diamonds on March 1, 2008. He stated that the current CUP for <br />Diamonds does not allow this type of event and specifically prohibits the use of a P A system. <br />He distributed pictures of other violations found on the sight such as tents that were erected with <br />propane tanks nearby. He stated that staff met with Mr. Gruber, owner of Diamonds on March <br />6, 2008 and Mr. Gruber stated that he did not realize that this event needed a Special Events <br />Permit and that the event was scheduled to be continued on March 8, 2008. He stated that City <br />Administrator Ulrich granted permission for the event to continue with certain restrictions.
