NEGOTIATING COMMITTEE <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The RamsCy Ni~gotiating Committee conducted a meeting on Tuesday, April 14, <br />Ramsey 1VI~ 'nici~al Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />Members P~'esen. t: Councilmember Kenneth Peterson <br /> Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br /> Councilmember Glen Hardin <br /> <br />1992 at the <br /> <br />Also Present: City Administrator Ryan Schroeder <br /> Personnel Coordinator Kay McAloney <br /> City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br /> Public Works Supervisor Merle Mevissen <br /> Police Chief Michael Auspos <br /> i Senior Accountant Mary Gomez <br />CALL TO~ ORDER <br /> <br />Councilmer~ber ?eterson called the Negotiating Committee to order at 5:30 <br /> p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN ~. INPUT <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Consensus Was t° approve the agenda as presented. <br /> <br />Case 4/1: ; 1992 Wages and Benefits for Exempt <br /> <br />Employees <br /> <br />City Enginger Siteve Jankowski stated he did some research regarding salaries for other city <br />engineers a~d felt that the figure presented for city engineer was rather low. He stated that if this <br />proposal is ar dop .t~l, he would like to be able to have some input on market value. <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder stated that the standard practice here has been to use the Stanton <br />System an4 the~ is more reliability and validity to doing it that way than by surveying for <br />individual posit~ns as the figures could vary dramatically. He added the City has to start <br />somewhere ~nd grow and he feels this is the starting point. <br /> <br />Upon inquiry regarding if non-exempt will always be tied to AFSCME, City Administrator <br />Schroeder replied the City is trying to keep the two similar. <br /> <br />Police Chief Mike Auspos inquired about goals and what would happen to your points on your <br />review if the goal~ you set were unattainable. <br /> <br />City Admin~strat0r Schroeder stated the goal setting is an intent to force the determination of goals <br />on an annual basis. Employees come up with a list of goals - if the goals are there, the points are <br />given. If th~ goa!s have not been named, there will be no points for that part of it. If the goals are <br />unattainable4 such as building a new Public Works building, etc., then everyone would understand <br />why this per~on did not succeed in making this goal a reality. <br /> <br />Negotiation Committee/April 14, 1992 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
