<br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, March 18,2008, <br />at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember John Dehen <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Matt Look <br />Councilmember Mary Jo Olson <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Kurtis G. Ulrich <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi A. Nelson <br />Assistant City Engineer Tim Himmer <br />Human Resources Manager Givonna Reed Kone <br />Interim Community Development Director Sylvia Frolik <br />Economic Development Coordinator Sean Sullivan <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the City Council Work Session to order at 9:08 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />The agenda was approved as submitted. <br /> <br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1) Washington DC Trip for Northstar - Ramsey Station <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson stated that staff has explored a trip to Washington DC to <br />meet with congressional leaders, FT A and BNSF. She stated that they are thinking of a trip <br />where representatives would leave mid-day on Wednesday and return Thursday night, sometime <br />after Easter, but before mid-April when there are spring conferences scheduled. She reviewed <br />some of the possible funding options and stated that the estimated costs are around $10,000 for <br />three Councilmembers, the City Administrator, and two representatives from the Tinklenberg <br />Group. <br /> <br />City Council Work Session / March 18,2008 <br />Page 1 of5 <br />
