Planing and Zoning Commission conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, May 5, <br />1992 at thei Ram~y Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota, to <br />hear a requ~t td rfizone property from R-1 Rural Residential to B-1 Business; Case of Burnside <br />Trail Dev~10~ment Company. <br /> <br />Members Pre~ en.~ Chairperson David Bawden <br /> Commissioner Benjamin Deemer <br />: Commissioner Terry Hendriksen <br /> Commissioner Paul Holland <br /> Commissioner Charles LaDue <br />: Commissioner Michael Terry <br />: Commissioner Bradley Thorud <br /> <br />Also Present:- <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br />City Engineer Steven Jankowski <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Bawden called the public hearing to order at 7:38 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENT/$TION: <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that Burnside Trail Development Company has requested <br />approval to ~zohe 10 acres at County Road #63 and County Road #84 to B-1 Business for <br />developme~ ~viffi a convenience store. She added that, for the record, there is a letter from Greg <br />Ebner and faffdly!opposing the rezoning. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br />Resident at 9!55 ,- 181st Avenue N.W. - stated his property is located opposite one corner of the <br />subject progegy and he is against the rezoning. He thought the area was strictly residential and he <br />has a small ql~ild ~d expressed concern regarding added traffic and the loitering that accompanies a <br />convenience. ~[tor¢. He also expressed concern that maybe it would be changed to a pornographic <br />shop, a liqu0rlsto~ or a 24-hour establishment. He felt there would be additional expenses for the <br />neighbors beqtuse of having to put up fencing and possibly installing security systems. <br />Harley GordOg, 1~8030 Baugh Street N.W. - stated he sold three lots in an area he thought would <br />be strictly reslderttial and he is opposed to a convenience store and opposed to an operation that <br />would be open~ 24~ hours a day in an area designed for houses. <br /> <br />Resident at 9~60- 181st Avenue N.W. - stated he has two young children and he has the same <br />concerns about tr~fic, loitering and possibly other types of businesses going in the same area. <br /> <br />Tom Knuds0~, 1'/400 Baugh Street N.W. - stated he moved here 15 years ago and it is a nice <br />residential ai~.
