BUDGET COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey Budget Committee met on Friday, March 22, 1991 at the Ramsey Municipal <br />Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota 55303. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Councilmember Kenneth Peterson <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br />Councilmember Glen Hardin <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Acting City Administrator/Finance Officer S andra Ashley Helling <br />Police Chief Michael Auspos <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br />Personnel Coordinator Kay McAloney <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson called the meeting to order at 4:07 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the Committee to approve the agenda as presented. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Carpeting for Police Department <br /> <br />Police Chief Auspos stated the department would like carpeting to alleviate some of the noise level <br />and also for warmth in the winter. He stated this is not a high priority item; however, he would <br />like it "kept alive". <br /> <br />Case #2: D.A.R.E. Program <br /> <br />Mrs. Helling stated that all the discretionary items are being brought back to the Budget Committee <br />as some items need to be reviewed. <br /> <br />Chief Auspos stated that the Anoka Police Department is supplying the officer to educate the 5th <br />grade students about drugs through the D.A.R.E. (Drug Awareness Resistance Education) <br />program, and they are asking the City of Ramsey to pick up the cost share of the materials for the <br />Sandburg Middle School students who are from the Ramsey area. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to recommend to City <br />Council to approve the City's contribution to D.A.R.E. in the amount of $2,576.25 for the 1990- <br />1991 school year. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
