RAMSEY BUDGET COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Budget Committee conducted a workshop on Thursday, September 6, 1990 at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Councilmember DeLuca <br />Councilmember Peterson <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator David Hartley <br />Finance Officer Sandra Ashley <br />Police Chief Michael Auspos <br />Public Works Supervisor Merle Mevissen <br />City Engineer Steven Jankowski <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />The Budget Committee workshop was called to order at 7:15 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />The consensus was to approve the agenda as submitted. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Discussion Topic: Countryside Estates Park <br /> <br />Kevin Brand - 8910 - 176th Avenue N.W. - was present to represent the residents in Countryside <br />Estates. Countryside Estates was awarded $7,500 in the 1990 budget year for a park/ballfield, <br />however, the residents of Countryside Estates would prefer a tot lot to a ballfield. Mr. Brand <br />stated that he brought with him a petition stating their preference. Mr. Brand said that he realizes <br />that playground equipment is expensive and is requesting an additional $7,500 for 1991 for <br />construction of the tot lot and playground equipment. <br /> <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski stated that he met with Mr. Brand and Mrs. Thatcher to discuss <br />park matters. Countryside Estates received some land from Sorteberg's 6th Addition in exchange <br />for Outlot B in Countryside Estates; Lots 1 and 2 of Sorteberg's 6th Addition are the desired lots. <br />Mr. Jankowski mentioned that volunteer labor is available, the location is laid out and he would <br />like to proceed with the project. <br /> <br />Mr. Brand has been speaking with Countryside Estates residents and keeping abreast of the <br />situation and communications. <br /> <br />City Administrator David Hartley mentioned that funds for 1991 are included in the park bond <br />issue and that the Park and Recreation Commission has requested that improvements be made to <br />the park in Countryside Estates. <br /> <br />Budget Committee Workshop/September 6, 1990 <br /> Page 1 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
