CITY COUNCIL <br />BUDGET COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council Budget Committee conducted a meeting on Monday, November 16, <br />1990 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Councilmember Kenneth Peterson <br />Councilmember Stephen F. DeLuca <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator David Hartley <br />Finance Officer Sandra Ashley <br />Public Works Superintendent Merle Mevissen <br />Police Chief Michael Auspos <br />Environmental Specialist Brace Bacon <br />Community Education Director Claudia Dodge <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />The Budget Committee meeting was Called to order at 4:10 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Review proposed 1991 budget. <br /> <br />The first item reviewed was the proposed capital outlay budget for street maintenance and park and <br />recreation. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley noted that the construction of a salt shed is proposed to be funded by the Public Works <br />Garage Fund. Mr. Hartley explained that the City has been setting aside funds toward the future <br />construction of a public works garage and because of recent information received, it appears that <br />the public works garage can be funded with an econom/c development authority. Therefore, those <br />funds that were previously set aside could be used for a number of other things, including the new <br />salt shed. <br /> <br />Mr. Mevissen requested that the proposed budget be amended to delete the $1,500.00 line item for <br />trailers for mowers under park and recreation and the line item for mobile radios under street <br />maintenance be increased from $1,000.00 to $2,000.00. <br /> <br />Police Chief Auspos stated that he has no problems with the proposed capital outlay for 1991 for <br />police protection. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley referred to service and charges and noted that $20,000.00 is being proposed for <br />consulting engineering services. Mr. Hartley explained that based on the number of hours the City <br />has used the services of Hakanson, Anderson Associates in the past, it appears that the City has <br /> <br />City Council Budget Committee/November 16, 1990 <br /> Page 1 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
