PROCEEDINGS OF CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a special meeting on Thursday, April 3, 1986 <br />at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Gary Heitman <br />Councilmember Arnie Cox <br />Councilmember A1 $orteberg <br />Councilmember Gary Reimann <br />Councilmember Jean Schlueter <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Dave Nartley <br />City Planner Anne Norris <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman called the special Council meeting to order at 7:32 p.m. and led <br />in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />There were no citizens present. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Councilmember Cox to approve <br />the agenda as submitted. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Heitman, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />Reimann and Schlueter. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />COUNCIL BUSINESS <br /> <br />~ Building Inspector Replacement: <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley asked Council for clarification on just what level of building <br />inspector they are seeking to meet Ramsey's needs. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schlueter noted that Ramsey's most recent ad for the position <br />specified a Class II inspector and inquired as to why Staff is hesitant to <br />proceed to make a recommendation from the Class II applicants that applied. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox stated that he has expressed to Mr. Hartley that he doesn't <br />feel it necessary to hire another Class II inspector when there is one already <br />on Staff in Ramsey. Councilmember Cox stated that he feels it would be more <br />economical to hire a person in the process of seeking certification, using Mr. <br />Wirz as the Class II inspector during the interim. <br /> April 3, 1986 <br /> <br /> Page 1 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
